Last week we at Snappy were involved in a large clearance that, at first glance, sounded straightforward but quickly showed its true scale. The task was to remove more than 400 office chairs from a company storage site for FENYX GmbH, based outside London in Haywards Heath, RH17.

The collection was originally booked through our partners at Rubbish Removal UK. Once the size of the job became clear and the deadline was confirmed, they got in touch with us to make sure the clearance could be completed on time. With the volume involved, it was obvious this would need more than a standard setup.

Quoting the job took time as well. Even though the chairs were in storage, their combined weight and size added up quickly. We had to calculate roughly how heavy each chair was to work out the total load and disposal costs. It became clear early on that this would be a multi-vehicle job, not just a couple of van loads.

Timing was critical. The storage site needed to be fully cleared before Christmas, with no option to split the job over multiple days. Because of that, everything had to be planned in advance — crew numbers, vehicle movements, loading order and access routes — before any work began.

Working alongside Rubbish Removal UK, we were able to bring in additional vehicles and operatives, allowing the clearance to run smoothly from start to finish. The pace stayed controlled and organised, which is essential on jobs of this size.

Once removed, the chairs were taken for responsible disposal and recycling wherever possible. It takes more effort to handle waste properly, but it’s not something we cut corners on. Large storage clearances come with responsibility, not just volume.

By the end of the job, the storage site was completely cleared and handed back exactly as agreed, and most importantly, on time. For Snappy Rubbish Removal, it was another good example of how strong partnerships and proper planning make large-scale removals possible.

Jobs like this don’t always get noticed — and that’s usually a good sign. The chairs were gone, the deadline was met, and everyone could move on without any issues.
